APPLEBUM (Japan) Boyz In The Hood Raglan T-Shirt  S/S 2010
SWRV’!ng. When it comes to fashion that represents the quintessential culture of hip-hop APPLEBUM  gear is killing the game right now.
Collaborations with Wu-Tang? Yes. Mutiple.
Collaborations with Adidas & Undefeated? Yes.
Something for the sneakerheads? Yes.
Something for the ladies? Yes.
DJ Muro custom collaboration? Yes yes yes.
Their very original, very wearable designs are silently putting most street wear to shame.
Based in 世田谷区 Setagaya, Tokyo the  APPLEBUM crew has been a SWRV favorite since we connected with them in 2008. One trip to their workspace and we were down, they had a cassette tape and Rap Pages collections that would flip wigs.

You can check out what I mean in the video below, an improptu interview SWRV shot with APPLEBUM in 08.

Their S/S 2010  line has been opening eyes and  getting some online burn via sites like Hypebeast, but one look at their entire lookbook left me in awe. I don’t think you understand.

Their music-inspired designs takes keys from Roy Ayers, Ice Cube, Dead Prez, Erick B & Rakim, Nas & Jay-Z - and all this for just one season? G o o d n e s s.
I don’t even know many Amercian brands going this hard for culture right now.

New Era’s on a new level…the crew sent through some goodies by air mail.

Bottom line: APPLEBUM is l a r g e, and the future of classic.
Love from Philly.

March 20th marked the o f f i c i a l first day of Spring.
In honor of the new season blasting off, SWRV connected a group of creative visual artists and creatives to shoot a collaborative lookbook with accessories artist Jennifer Villaruz of Foreign Unity (L.A./NYC).

The shoot was an a m a z i n g episode of fearlessness, as we braved rooftops + hot blocks to get these shots to take flight.

Catch some preview flicks of the shoot below. Stay tuned. We’ll be releasing the full lookbook this month. This will be SWRV’s second lookbook, if you missed the first, grab it here.

SWRV is proud to present to you the Swatch Shields Sunglasses; a rare, great piece of history. So you might be wondering whats the deal with these sunglasses, whats makes them so “great”? Well, I’ll tell you.
These are a amazing pair of sunglasses made in the 80’s by the Swatch Watch company in a collaboration with Alpina Eyewear, a brand known for designing high-quality outdoor eyewear.

The glasses were popularized throughout the 1980’s by Pro Wrestler Macho Man/Randy Savage.

They also can be seen sported more recently on Taz Arnold in Paris for Fashion Week.

These are a very unique timeless pair of sunglasses that will surely set you a side from everyone else. When you have had enough of the Louis Vuitton Millionaires or even the marvelous Louis Vuitton Bindis, the Swatch Shields are a great alternate choice.

∞ Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness. - Martin Luther King, Jr.
The above photo is taken from an on-going fashion media project SWRV has been developing with students at a high school in West Philadelphia. Our student Z, rocks an archival SWRV piece, the Martin Luther King Jr. Kente Cloth Hoodie.
Our idea of style isn’t just actualized on the runways of fashion weeks, but manifested in class rooms in Philly. On this day where we reflect upon the lifework of one of the world’s greatest leaders, we challenge today’s leaders of style to make moves that will inspire the way the world is run in the future. Let the way we walk, talk, and treat one another be characteristics of our TRUE style - always backed by the idea of unity, freedom, and true empowerment.
